I’m not sure how accurate the video is but I really liked their little faces, they’re very cute. This led to watching more and more videos about them and now I’ve bought an enclosure so I can try keeping my own weird little guy.

I looked around a few places and decided to buy the jumping spider starter kit from thespidershop.co.uk since it seemed to have a nice collection of things. When it arrives I’ll set it up and see if there’s anything else I need to get. I also got their small arboreal enclosure so I don’t have to put a sling into an enclosure that’s too big for them.

I’ve not ordered any spiders yet, I want to get the kit set up so I can see if there’s anything else I need. I wouldn’t want to rush ahead without getting things ready.

I decided to go for a non-bioactive setup initially for two reasons.

I’m not great at keeping plants alive.

I was reading some posts on https://arachnoboards.com/ and people were saying that bioactive is a fad.

I don’t know enough right now to say if the second point is true but it lets me go with the easier setup for now. Maybe I’ll try a bioactive setup once I’m more confident. For now though, I hope the little guy doesn’t mind fake plants.

I watched a video about jumping spiders and fell in love with them.
